Peter Coleman

Peter Coleman is the Head of Bioenergy and Land Use Science at the UK Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. He is responsible for the development of physical science evidence for greenhouse gas mitigation particularly on the implications and opportunities of bioenergy and of evidence development on land use.  This role involves managing the UK’s land use land use change and forestry emissions inventory and emission projections. Previously Peter worked in the UK’s Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy and Department for Energy and Climate Change in similar roles, and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the air quality science team. Before that he gained 15 years private sector experience after 8 years at Warren Spring Laboratory working on environmental issues such as dioxins and other POPs,  wood burning emissions and acid rain.
